Why is Sunflower asking for donations?

Dear friends,
You may wonder why, after more than four years of blogging, I'm finally putting up a donation button on my blog. Well, what can I say? Circumstances change, and this year has been a difficult one for me in more ways than one.
As I write this letter, I am temping (earning slightly above minimum wage) whilst waiting for colleges to get back to me on my job applications. I want to teach English, you see. I will also start pursuing my Masters degree next month, part-time.
I won't throw a pity party because I made my own choices and don't have cause to whine. Plus, I don't want to guilt you into giving. But let me just say that I would be very grateful for whatever you choose to donate to me, because every little bit helps.
I have promised myself not to put ads on my blog, ever. I don't blog with the intention of earning revenue. But if I could at least defray the cost of maintaining this site, that would be great.
Thank you for your support over the years in the form of comments, emails and prayers. I treasure that and hope that you will continue sharing your life journeys with me.
