Money-less misadventure

Have you ever gone into a restaurant to have a meal... and then realised you didn't have any money? Or does that only happen to me?

Today I walked into a restaurant, sat down, and ordered. I remembered I had a fifty-dollar note in my purse... but I decided I'd better check.

So there I was, sipping my drink, waiting for the food to arrive, and... I HAVE NO MONEY ZOMG.

Oops.

And I don't have a credit card, even if the restaurant accepts credit card payments.

What to do next? Look for an ATM of course. But! I happened to be in the one and only shopping mall in the city with no ATM. What kind of mall is that, you tell me?! Sheesh!

Luckily there's a whole row of banks in the shoplots across the street. Still, that meant I had to walk out of the mall, climb up the pedestrian bridge to cross the busy main road, walk to the bank, get money, cross the bridge again, and go back to the restaurant. *pants*

I explained my predicament to one of the waiters and promised I'd be back... I wasn't sure he trusted me to come back, but I was just thankful I had realised the lack of cash BEFORE eating! Haiyoh! How believable would it be if I had said, "Err, thanks for the meal, but I've just discovered I can't pay you for it"???
