It was a dark and stormy night...

You all too scared to comment on my last post ke? Only Ariel commented. Now come on, don't tell me you guys don't have stories of your own... like Lynnee, who came back home yesterday to find her tv on at full blast with the remote pointing AWAY from it. Mind you, she lives alone... I would be sooooooooo freaked out if I were her!

When I was little and in the fairy-tale stage (which I never grew out of, it's just that my fairytales stretched to incorporate adult content) (*ahem*), I used to imagine something dark and evil lurking in the shadows where the open door leans against the wall. Something that might spring out and pounce on me at any minute! Aieeeeee!

But now I'm okay... I still have a fertile imagination but I've learned how to ignore things on purpose. Some girls are scared to be alone at home, but I'm always happy to have the whole house to myself. Blissful solitude! Nobody to criticise my choice of audio entertainment! And no need for garments of any sort! I did not just type that...

In general I'm not the type who's easily spooked. I'm not even scared of cockroaches. Hey, I don't like them, but they don't scare me. I just spray them. And spray them. And spray them. And yell, "Die, FOOL!" when they turn on their backs and start waving their legs in the air, gasping for breath. (I don't whack them coz I just know I'll miss and the fella will make a beeline for me in revenge.)

Of course, you can't spray intangible beings. But you can sing music at the top of your voice to drown out mental images of freaky things. This is why I don't watch horror movies: my imagination does well enough on its own without any outside help!

Focus is the key. Redirection of the thought process. Avoid and ignore. Now... look out of the window... and... SCREAM!
