All that, and the kitchen sink

I'm well-known among my friends for carrying "ridiculously small" handbags. Even then, I have quite a few items inside:

  • My purse, which has my identity card, driver's licence, ATM card, and money
  • A packet of pocket tissues
  • Small notebook
  • Pen
  • Lip balm
  • Two mobile phones
  • Car keys, house keys and office keys
  • Hair clip

Other women I know also carry:

  • Digital camera
  • Face powder
  • Lipstick and lip gloss
  • Small mirror (for applying lipstick)
  • Hairbrush / comb
  • Facial blotters (to blot oil / sweat from skin)
  • PDA / organiser
  • Thumb drive
  • Plaster (band-aid)
  • Hands-free kit for mobile phone (or bluetooth headset)
  • iPod / MP3 player
  • Small Bible
  • Cigarette lighter & pack of cigarettes
  • Vial of perfume
  • Lozenges / breath mints
  • Panadol / aspirin
  • Spare tampon / sanitary pad / pantiliners
  • Company security name tag
  • Coin purse (just for coins)
  • Safety pins
  • Nail clipper
  • Tweezers

So I don't get it. How do men manage without handbags?
