Hotel tycoon wanted
It's a pity that the I'm always on a business trip every time I check into a hotel, and therefore am always too busy to even take a soak in the bathtub, never mind sample the other hotel facilities. I really really wanted to sink into some warm water and not move for half an hour, but was rushed off my feet almost the entire time.
I'm also mournful about the fact that I couldn't fully enjoy the sumptuous bed because I had to work till 2am both nights and wake up at 7am. I've never found anything to rival the experience of a hotel bed -- the crisp, smooth linen, the fluffy pillows... of course, the air-conditioned room doesn't hurt either. Yes, I like my creature comforts. And I like to sleep.
This morning I had a fleeting thought that maybe I should marry a guy who owns a hotel. Coz then I could go stay in one anytime, for free. I know Ruth occasionally books herself into a hotel for a night just to get away from things and pamper herself, but I can't afford that :P
Actually, I thought it might be nice to actually live in a hotel, with maids to clean up after you and everything, but of course you wouldn't get to do very much by way of decorating your room. Hotel rooms always look kind of... well, bland. Uniform. Anonymous. Maybe it would get boring staying in a hotel after awhile. Okay, but staying for free occasionally would still be good.
Then I thought, whilst I'm at it, why not marry a guy who owns a chain of hotels? He'd most likely be rich! Hey, it was a FLEETING thought, okay? *grin*
Oh, and who designs hotel shower stalls? Why is it that there's never a ledge or shelf on which to put your shower gel and shampoo? I always end up putting them on the floor. I can't get over the fact that the hotel supplies these nice little bottles of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, ostensibly expecting guests to use them, but don't realise that guests will need somewhere to put them when they're standing in the shower. Really!
Some people have the habit of collecting 'souvenirs' from hotels in the form of those little bottles of shower gel & shampoo, shower caps, etc. I don't coz I don't use them; I'm fussy about what I put on my skin, since I've got eczema. I don't take stuff from hotel bathrooms; I gather up extra paper serviettes wherever I go, coz I use them as back-up when I run out of pocket tissue and forget to replenish my supply. They're also less flimsy than normal tissue and come in really handy if you absolutely have to go when only public toilets are nearby. Being that Malaysian public toilets generally do not come equipped with toilet paper.
