And what is it that you actually do...?
I'm starting to wonder what people REALLY do at work. I mean, like we know lawyers go to court to argue cases, or draft agreements and affidavits or see clients; we know teachers teach or prepare lesson plans & examination papers and mark students' homework assignments; and we know doctors treat sick patients and talk to patients to take the patient's history. But what about other professions?
When I was a journalist, people used to ask me whether I only worked one day a week coz the section I was writing for only came out once a week. Hello, when you go for a conference, do you think the organising committee only worked the day the conference was held?
I'm an admin executive, and I, err, do admin stuff. Yes, very descriptive, isn't it? Recently I've been so busy at work, yet when I try to explain why I've been so busy or exactly what it is that has kept me tied up, I find it really difficult. If I were to tell you that I mostly answer calls, send out information about my company's seminars, key data into the computer database, and prepare various materials, it wouldn't sound like very much work, would it? Yet I've been rushed off my feet. (Oh, and I actually enjoy being busy. Go figure.)
So I'm looking at my friends and wondering what they do at work every day. Especially the pastors ;) Do you guys spend like 5 hours in prayer & meditation daily? Tell me! I'm very curious!
