1st post of the year... finally!
My temp job is now permanent! Yay!!
I was kinda telling God that it would be nice if I were able to keep this job... coz it's not too demanding, which is just nice since I'm doing my Masters degree part-time, and I'm already familiar with what it entails, and quite comfortable with what's required of me. The office is located near my university, so I can leave work at 5:30pm and get to class by 6pm, and I usually don't need to work late. Overall, it is just great.
And then my boss called and asked if I would like to come on board full-time. WOW!
So I'm starting the new year with a new job, and with the Masters course... two new beginnings. It's great to have the feeling of embarking on something fresh. And I just realised that if I manage to complete my Masters in two years as planned, then I'll be graduating when I'm 30. How's that for brilliant timing? Everybody likes to moan about reaching the big 3-0, but for me it'll be a sort of landmark year. I get to celebrate an achievement!
I've decided I won't be writing about my scholarly adventures here; instead, if I do have the urge to talk about what I'm learning, I'll be talking about it on my other blog, which is dedicated to language stuff (books, writing, and everything in between). After all, my Masters is to do with the study of the English language, so my stories will fit better over there. If you're interested in keeping up with what's going on studies-wise, go ahead and hop over to my previous URL. If you're a first-time reader here (ie. you came after The Big Migration), just drop a note in the comments and I'll email the address to you :)
In summary, I'm very happy and very busy. And the Taiwan earthquake made it very difficult to access my blog. Which explains why I haven't been blogging much of late. Hope all of you had a very happy new year!
