On holiday

I just tried to install Movable Type on my server to run one of my other blogs, and was singularly unsuccessful at it. I managed to get to the point where you run the program for the first time and it starts to put everything in place, but then it sort of got stuck there. Maybe a permissions problem -- I don't have a clue about things like that. I need help.

It was all Bob's idea coz he was too busy to do the installation for me. "Try and see if you can install Movable Type on your own," he said.

I was like, "Me?! What if I mess something up?"

"Then you'll just mess your own site up lah." Oh, how comforting.

"In which case you can delete and re-do," he added.

Anyway, I'll be gone from tomorrow till Wed (attending a conference), and Bob is also away on holiday, so I guess he'll help me figure it out when we both get back. Looks like I'm not as much of a geek as I thought I was ;)

The conference is themed "Called to the Marketplace" and is organised by Graduates Christian Fellowship Malaysia. Not sure what to expect, exactly... the speaker, Dr Gordon Preece, is from Australia and I'd never heard of him prior to this despite the fact that he's written a few books.

Hope for some time to relax and breathe... it's been an eventful few weeks (more on that later).

Update: Arrgh! I also can't get scheduled posting to work on this blog! (Making posts appear on a future date) -- the FAQ said to set up a "cron job", whatever that is, and I followed the instructions exactly, but it still isn't working. Arrgh arrgh arrgh!
