Real friends: more precious than jewels
I wrote before about a guy whom I met in December last year. A mutual friend introduced us, because she knew that we were both looking for a life partner.
We went out on a few dates, getting to know each other, but after a month agreed we weren't compatible, and decided to just remain friends. My housemates and other close friends, who had met him and listened to the stories of my experiences with him, supported this decision.
I never heard from him again. But in March, the mutual friend who had introduced us told me that he was engaged to someone. Already? Wow, that was fast! Apparently he was ready and eager to be married. If you find somebody you think is compatible... why wait?
The wedding was last month.
"Just imagine, I could be married to him right now," I said to my housemate Emmy tonight.
"We wouldn't have let you," she replied.
See? This is why I love my housemates!
