Setback

Remember the writing job? Well, they are no longer impressed with my writing. *rueful smile*

I recognize that you are not familiar with the manufacturing industry and I respect that you have your own style of writing. But most of the articles you have sent our way lacks the life and creativity that we saw in your sample works.

Yeah, they terminated the contract with the requisite 14-day notice. It was a 6-month contract, you see.

In all fairness, I don't blame them coz corporate writing is not my strength. I admitted it to myself about two weeks ago. I can still write the stuff, but it requires more effort than usual and comes out sounding a bit 'cookie cutter' most of the time -- you know, as if it were poured out from a mould. My boss's assessment of my writing (as quoted above) is fair, although I didn't know my writing was THAT bad. *sigh*

This news is discouraging. I'm trying to remember that I still have the other job, so at least I don't have to worry about surviving. I'm trying to remember that God is still the same faithful God He was when I was receiving all those job opportunities about a month ago. I'm trying to remember that it is okay not to be perfect at everything. At this particular moment, I suddenly feel once again like a failure, and I am trying with everything in me to stave off that feeling because I know it is not true.
