I liked Aslan's deep voice

The Chronicles of NarniaI saw The Chronicles of Narnia last night. Am glad I went to see it -- I wasn't sure if I would, coz the trailer irritated me intensely every time I had the misfortune to catch sight of it.

I mean, in the books, the wardrobe was an ordinary wardrobe! There was nothing mysterious about it! But the trailer has Lucy pulling a sheet off the wardrobe, unveiling the thing, as it were. The actual scene is even worse. You see her in slow motion, as if the discovering of the wardrobe is a Very Momentous Occasion. Hello! They were playing hide-and-seek! She'd been looking for a place to hide! She'd had no idea that this wardrobe was out of the ordinary. That's why it was such a surprise when she stumbled into another world!

*takes a deep breath* -- okay, rant over :P

Don't worry, I won't give out any spoilers. But darn it, this irritated me a great deal. And so what if I'm anal? See, it was a good thing I never read Lord of the Rings or any of the Harry Potter books, eh?

Actually, I last read The Chronicles of Narnia when I was in my teens, so my memory of the story is rather hazy. As far as I can tell, the rest of the movie is quite true to the book. From what I remember lah. But I have to say the story & characters still looks better in my imagination compared to the version on the silver screen.

Now I MUST read Memoirs of a Geisha before the movie is released and spoils the book for me. Arrgh!

And here is my housemate Emmy doing her best 'Chicken Little' impersonation. Guess who took the photo ;)  (Incidentally, it's posted with her permission, in case you wondered whether she's going to kill me for this. Heheh.)
