Oh the shopping!!!!!!
Last night Miss Bunny's Internet connection didn't like me and I couldn't get online. Oh, it was just fine when she was chatting and surfing, but the minute I touched the notebook, POOF! -- bye-bye, connection! Sigh. *grin*
I was so totally in shopping mode yesterday and gave new meaning to the phrase "shop till you drop". I got 10 tops, 3 skirts, 5 pairs of shoes (including two pairs of boots... I had really really been wanting boots), and two handbags. *groan* I don't even know how I'm gonna carry all those things back on the bus with me!!
The night before, I told Miss Bunny, "I'm not one of those girly girls who will try on something, then emerge from the fitting room and ask my friends, 'Does this dress make me look fat?'. So don't feel like you have to accompany me if you have other stuff of your own to do -- I'll be okay shopping alone."
You see, when I'm shopping, I go into almost every accessories, shoes, or clothes shop I see. This can be a bore to anyone who happens to come along with me. And I work systematically, making a full round of the shops on one floor of the shopping complex before moving to another. That way, I don't miss a single shop, and I know which ones I've already been to. Yes, I'm intense about shopping, as I am about many other things. If I'm shopping, believe you me, I'm completely focused on the shopping!!!
I also seldom agonise over something before buying it -- I usually make decisions really fast. I try it on, it looks good, I like it, I buy it. That's my modus operandi.
Miss Bunny had no idea what she'd let herself in for. I watched her jaw drop as I walked into shop after shop, tried on stuff, discarded them, tried on stuff, bought them... and the number of shopping bags kept multiplying. She'd never seen anybody shop so dedicatedly ever before.
At one point I really needed her to rein me in, so I went to her with a pair of shoes I was trying on, and said, "Okay, give me your honest opinion. And please say something that will stop me from buying these!!" I can't believe I did that. *slaps forehead*
I haven't shopped this crazily since I was in college, I think. Working life doesn't give one the luxury of taking the day off to visit the malls, and I hate shopping on weekends coz the malls are crowded then. Also, I, um, kinda "ballooned" a li'l after I started work and I haven't wanted to look at myself in the mirror for some time. You find out you have to wear an L where before you used to be an M, and it becomes a constant reminder that YOU ARE GETTING FAT. (Cue Mom & Dad's voices in my head.) Bleh.
Anyway, I have boots!! I have boots!! I love my boots
