Preparing for camp

Remember I said I was going to my church's Young Adults Camp? Well, it's this weekend and I'm going!

Tonight we had a "pre-camp" meet coz the camp organising committee wanted to brief us and get us "prepared". They made everyone write down a list of expectations and goals for the camp. But... but... I NEVER make those sort of lists! I don't even like lists!!

Y'see, I usually go to camps or meetings with just the general expectation of hearing from God and/or learning more about Him. I very rarely have a more specific reason for going. I remember once having a leader ask me, after a day-long worship & prayer session, whether I'd received any "breakthrough". I looked at him blankly. "I wasn't particularly asking for anything... I was just worshipping God," I told him. I can't remember what he said in response.

Anyway, the camp committee made me make a list, so I made a list lah. But it was more of a general list that reflects where I am in my journey with God, and where I hope to go from here:

I just want to know You more
Help me to see You as You really are
I want to build my relationship with You
I want to receive strength, comfort, encouragement for the next stage of the journey with You
Basically I want to hear from You, to have You speak into my life
I want to renew my love for You & my commitment to You -- I want to be able to give You my whole heart
