Project Petaling Street anniversary!

PPS 2nd anniversary T-shirtBeing hungry and sleepy at the same time is not a good combination. Being hungry, sleepy, having a Bad Hair Day, getting lost on the way to a work assignment and thinking about all the bills you still have to pay -- all these at the same time -- is an even WORSE combination. :P

Everybody who knows me knows I'm perennially blur. I just found out a few days ago that Project Petaling Street, our Malaysian blog aggregator / portal / thingamajig will be celebrating its second anniversary soon. Why am I always the last to find out these things? I also found out, 11 days after the fact, that one of my friends had given birth to twin boys. As I said, why am I always the last to know?!

Anyway, I can hardly believe it's been two years since Project Petaling Street was set up. It's the place where you go to find out what Malaysians are writing about on their blogs, you know. I remember being one of the project's beta testers way back in 2003 :) Was so surprised when Aizuddin emailed to ask me to help out!

There will be a "birthday bash" on June 23 (a Thursday night) and there's an anniversary T-shirt for sale too. Initially I said I would come for the birthday bash, then I remembered that I'm scheduled to go on a business trip that weekend. Asked my boss, who told me we would be leaving on Friday morning.

"I guess I shouldn't go partying the night before, then," I said.

"Go party, leave early. You don't booze so no problem there," she replied. Can you tell she knows me too well? *grin*

So I'm going for the party (anybody want to teman -- accompany -- me?). As for the T-shirt, I wasn't originally planning to buy it, but when I saw the design it tickled my funnybone. It says, "Ping!" in big letters across the front, you see, and as my Chinese name is 'Ping', it's like having a T-shirt with my own name emblazoned across the front. I just know that's what my parents will think it is! hahaha. To buy or not to buy? Hmmm...
