Feeling good about myself

I never knew a pair of jeans could make me so happy :)

Yesterday I got a new pair of jeans to celebrate my recent weight loss. My belt can now go in an extra three holes and my baggy jeans don't look nice on me. Besides, all my jeans are "straight cut" and I decided I'd like to try a "boot cut" instead.

So for the first time ever, I bought a so-called "branded" pair of jeans -- no, not Levi's but Lee -- at $117, it is possibly the second-most expensive item of clothing I've ever purchased. (The most expensive was my convocation/graduation dress, which cost $150.)

I couldn't tahan (stand it) so I wore my new jeans to work today, and the whole day I was just so happy! Before I went left for the office, I modelled it for my housemates Dion & Sharon to see and Dion called out, "Hot chick! Hot chick!" What can I say? I have very supportive housemates. They rock ;)

It just makes such a difference to know that I look good... I haven't shopped for clothes in ages coz I haven't wanted to look at myself in the mirror. Now I can actually look at my reflection and smile and feel pleasure once again, and take more interest in clothes coz I can actually find nice clothes that fit & flatter my figure!

Today I put on those jeans and somehow I was walking with extra confidence and verve. When I came home, another housemate, Emmy, remarked: "These jeans flatter you. Your other jeans don't." I think I might have actually glowed!
