Makes my blood boil
I'm so mad. Never, ever host with Doteasy. Know why? They hold your domain hostage. Yeah their hosting packages might sound attractive, but if you ever try to move to a different host and transfer your domain away, you'll hit a brick wall.
WilfulSunflower.com is not with them, thank God. But the domain of the organisation I'm a part of is. And I'm trying to get that domain out of Doteasy's grubby hands.
They lock the domain so it cannot be transferred.
They pre-renew the domain (without any instructions from the domain holder) and then force you to pay for it -- US$25 (MYR$95) when my registrar charges only US$8.88 (MYR$33.74).
I wish I had the capacity, wherewithal and connections to mount a smear campaign against Doteasy and force them out of business. Unethical bastards.
While we're on domain issues, Bene Diction is still blogging on. I panicked yesterday when I tried to access Bene's blog at www.benedictionblogson.com and got redirected to GoDaddy.com's site. Bene's URL expired when he wasn't looking and he's having trouble getting it renewed, but his site is up at http://65.108.248.199/.
