Drama drama!
This morning, I received a call at about 11:30am from a lady called Mrs Ong. She said she was from OTY Jewellery. Now remember, OTY is owned by the Ong family -- the company takes its name from the founder's initials (Ong Tiong Yee). It's like getting a call from the Prime Minister's wife or something! :D
She said she'd seen my post on my experience with the company's 1Utama outlet, had been very saddened by it (made her want to cry, she said in Mandarin) and apologised for what had happened. She owned her employees were at fault and promised she would try to get the engraving done, and if it couldn't be done, "I can give you anything you want," adding, "It's a 39-dollar ring, I don't mind refunding you even 10 times over, we can afford it!" At the same time, she asked me to take the post down coz it would affect their reputation internationally, being on the World Wide Web and all. I understand her position and have done so.
I'm supposed to meet her for lunch today at the company's HQ in Mid Valley Megamall. Will update y'all on how the meeting went!
Man, I never in a million years imagined blogging about my experience would bring about this kind of response. It's kinda scary! Now I wonder who's reading this thing...
