100 things
After all the serious stuff this week, it's time for something lighter. I've been working on a "100 things about me" list for more than a year now. Surprising how difficult it is to think of 100 things! Am I really such a boring person? (Don't answer that! *grin*)
I managed to reach 88 a few days ago, and thought of leaving it at that... since the superstitious Chinese tend to believe there's good luck and prosperity in the number eight. In Chinese, that word sounds similar to the word for 'prosperity', you see.
In the same way, Chinese don't like the number four, because the word for 'four' sounds similar to the word 'die'. It's supposed to be very sui (bringer of bad luck). My office building doesn't have a fourth floor; the floor numbers on the lift buttons read "1, 2, 3, 3A, 5, 6..."
Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, the 88 items. Well, I may be Chinese, but I'm not superstitious. And I wanted to have 100 things. I must not let myself be defeated by a mere list!!
This evening, I finally succeeded in adding the last 12. And here you are:
100 Things You Never Wanted To Know About Me :)
Be warned, though, it's anything but a simple list. I wanted to write something that would not only be informative, but also interesting to read. I've seen some one-liner lists that almost put me to sleep. So, in keeping with my general verboseness -- well, you'll know what I mean when you click on the link ;)
I've actually got lots more to say, a lot I want to write about, but I haven't the time. This week my work has had me driving all over the Klang Valley. I've been to Klang, Cheras, and Setapak, among others; next week it'll be Ulu Kelang, Puchong, Bandar Sri Damansara, and Subang... I've gotten lost quite a few times, but am so proud of myself for being able to eventually find my way to the more out-of-the-way places.
