More hairy stuff

Yippee! Hani thinks my hair is pretty! (Not quite the same as if Ash had thought so, but we all know men can be so blur... hehehee)

My hair has a mind of its own. It's wavy, it goes all over the place, and it never looks the same two days in a row. I've been asked whether I perm my hair. Well, if I did, do you think I would have had it permed to turn out in all directions?! *rolls eyes*

Once, a Very Long Time Ago, I used to have long hair - to half-way down my back. Then, in my second year of university, close to finals, I went to the hairdresser in a fit of exam tension and cried, "Off with the hair!"

It's been short ever since.

Reactions have been varied. Most of the guys asked, "Why did you do that?!" The girls said long hair makes me look "more mature", which we all know is a euphemism for "it makes you look like a middle-aged aunt". Short hair, on me (or on my head), is apparently "more professional-looking" and "fresher", whatever that means.

However, despite the fact that short hair is MUCH easier to maintain and MUCH more convenient in this ridiculously hot Malaysian weather, part of me still hankered after long hair... been watching too many shampoo ads, I guess. 'Twould be nice to flip my hair over one shoulder, move my head and feel my hair swing about. Oh, wait, I hardly watch TV. There goes my excuse :)

Yes, yes, I'm afraid I've been brainwashed by the idea that long hair is more feminine. What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic! :O

So I've started to let my hair grow out. It's finally gotten past that irritating neither-long-nor-short stage, and, since I wanted long hair, there is no point in keeping it pinned up all the time... except that I think it's messy.

Hani, however, informs me that there's don't-you-know-what-a-comb-is messy and just-got-out-of-bed-after-having-a-good-time messy. (Of course, she said it in much plainer language than that, but I'm shy - *blush* - so I can't mention that 'S' word. You know, S-E-X. Shhh! *looks around furtively*) Her opinion that my hair's 'messiness' comes under the latter definition is vastly reassuring to me ;)
