I got SMS!
I got SMS! I got SMS!
I mean, I got an SMS from New Zealand!
Rachel Cunliffe, a fellow blogger, sent me a text message this evening. Isn't it cool?? We were communicating "real-time"!!!
It just feels like one step closer... so much more real... oh, I can't explain it...
I'm so excited! :D
'Tis the season for surprise communications: this morning, the friend who reads my blog regularly called me all the way from the USA. Wooo!
Had a good chat and caught up on the latest news... and I did my usual "open mouth, insert foot" routine, but he was kind about it. *rolls eyes* One could wish for poise and panache and polish, but why ask for the impossible? I'll have to settle for being quirky and quixotic, I guess ;)
And, the day before yesterday, an e-pal (you know, like a pen-pal, only we exchange emails instead of real letters) suddenly called me from Singapore. The email exchange had somehow ground to a stop sometime last year - I admit, that was my fault, *blush*. He called my office, asking for me, and said he was just wondering if I still wanted to be friends. Whoa!
Now, this is a guy I'd been writing to for only a few months. Never mind that we'd been exchanging mails pretty regularly; I've never met him in person before. And he called me to ask if I still wanted to be friends!
What do you think I said? ;)
