Daily‾Biscuit

Owen over at Gooddogbaddog has started the Daily‾Biscuit, a series of three questions daily in the tradition of Monday Mission, This or That Tuesday, Wednesday Wish, Thursday Thumb-Twiddler, and Friday Five (there are actually lots more - if you want a full list, visit The Memes List).

Here is today's Daily‾Biscuit:

  1. Scripture tells us that it is a good thing, a wise thing and even, a worthy thing, to seek the counsel of the godly. What the heck does that mean: The counsel of the godly?

To me that means seeking advice from Christians who are living godly lives. By this I don't mean exemplary or sinless lives (where would I ever find such people?) but people who are walking in the faith - who are trying their best to live for God and bring Him glory. I can see from their example that they are a little further down the road than I am, so they will probably be able to help me on the journey and share the lessons learnt & wisdom gained from experience.

  2. Can you talk about a time when someone said something to you that seemed simple but had broad and lasting application in your life? (Note: I didn’t ask if you ‘liked’ what they said, only that what they said has made a board and lasting impact.)

Uh... offhand I can't. Dad has a tendency to be sarcastic (he's often said that all his children are cleverer than he because if he'd studied the way we studied, he'd have failed miserably), so I think I might have gotten in the habit of not letting people's words have too much influence over me. Many spoken things have touched me or helped me to see things in a new perspective, but none have made a broad and lasting impact.

  3. And, on an easier note: At home, are you a barefoot kind of person or a sock type? (And, why do they call them slippers if the so-named footwear is meant to keep you from falling?)

This one is easy! I don't know anyone in Malaysia who goes around in socks in the home, including myself! It's just too HOT... by the way, we're currently experiencing the most horrible heatwave and it's expected to last till August! Arrgh!

But I'm stymied by the slippers question...
