Aloneness
You know what? I read other people's blogs and everybody is talking about the LOTR Two Towers movie. I haven't seen it.
I didn't see the first one, either. *gasp* *faints* LOL
Dunno... it's just not very important to me. Movies are extremely low-priority on my list of "preferred activities". James Cordrey recently posted on Braveheart another movie I missed. When I told him I hadn't seen it, he said, "When you have 3 hours to spend, I recommend Braveheart."
Um... first I would have to get a VCR, VCD or DVD player. Oh, and a TV or PC, so as to have a screen to see it on. (Yes, you read right: I don't have a PC it's on my list of "Things To Get". I'm only online at the office, or Internet cafes, or friend's houses. Mostly the office, though.)
So maybe the fact that I usually go to the cineplex alone has got something to do with the fact that movies are a low-priority thing for me. I usually don't mind going alone all that much, but certain days the aloneness hits hard.
I've never had a group of friends that I hung out with all the time. Well... I've never hung out much in the first place. Have always been more of a homebody. :)
I don't have friends who call me up and say, "Hey, we're planning to catch a movie. Wanna come?" or "We're planning an outing to [insert place name here]. You interested?"
Likewise, I don't have friends to call either. The other night I was hungry at 9pm, not having eaten dinner, and didn't feel like eating alone. But I could only think of a single person to call who might be amenable to going out at such short notice. Unfortunately, he was in the midst of his own dinner at home.
Thinking about it, I am actually quite a solitary person. I'm not sure if I mean to be, but I am. I do most things alone. I go places alone.
And then I come back to my room, and I'm alone.
Ouch.
