High heels and my little car
Almost all the department store chains are having sales. Went to Isetan and heroically restrained myself from buying any more shoes, although I did try a few pairs. The last time I counted, I had like 37 pairs, so I really don稚 have an excuse to get any more!
I知 mad about shoes, nuts about high heels I love four-inch heels. High heels have a mysterious power the minute a woman slips them on, she feels confident, sexy and totally feminine. Or at least I do. My friends just feel like they池e walking on stilts in a sticky bog. *wicked grin* They look at me with horror in their eyes when I tell them I can run in these shoes!
And no, the ones I have don稚 kill my feet. Besides, if a woman is all dressed up but wears a pair of flat-soled sandals, it spoils the whole look. It痴 just jarring, and doesn稚 go together sort of like how fine dining and baseball don稚 mix, y談now? :P Baseball goes with hotdogs or at least, in the movies it does. Haven稚 ever attended a baseball game in 途eal life before, LOL!
(Then again, my love affair with high heels is probably, again, the result of succumbing to devious marketing strategies. Why is femininity equated with dresses, high heels, long glossy hair, and a perfectly made-up face? Even freckles are considered 澱lemishes that need to be covered up! *rolls eyes*)
Talking about dressing up makes me think of colour-coordination. When I went home, I told Dad about a certain scratch on my car. After describing it and answering various questions to help him determine if the car痴 bodywork was exposed, Dad said I should paint over the scratch to prevent the car from rusting. 笛ust go to the workshop and as them to give you some paint in a similar shade, he said.
The way things worked out, Dad ended up getting the paint for me. Too late, I thought of getting a contrasting colour instead of a matching shade, so that I could paint some interesting patterns on my car. Dad came home with the news, 展e couldn稚 find a good match for your metallic greenish-blue colour, so I got grey instead. I was a bit disappointed. 敵rey is so boring, I mourned. 添ellow would have been a nice contrast, then I could paint a line on the other side too, to make it symmetrical, and maybe decorate my car a little.
Dad looked at me as if I was out of my mind. 鄭re you mad?! he asked, most unflatteringly. And my bro said, 添ou値l cause accidents! Strangely enough, it was Mom who came to my defence. 鉄he痴 pretty creative look at the cards she makes, Mom said. This being the same Mom who told me making cards was a waste of time!
My family is so normal. Sometimes I think they have no imagination or sense of fun, LOL.
Janelle says since it痴 my car, there痴 no harm painting patterns on it if I want to. She痴 also the one who insists that cars have a gender: 的s your car a boy or a girl? When I asked her how to tell a car痴 gender, she said it depends on its idiosyncrasies and the way it responds to you. For example, her first car was a boy coz in the mornings, he would start immediately and be raring to go. Her second car, on the other hand, tends to be moody and needs some coaxing before it gets up and running, so she痴 a girl. Hmm.
Going by Janelle痴 definition, my car痴 probably a boy. He LOOKS like a boy, anyway. (to me, at least!) I know, I know, the madness is catching. Then again, I am the mizwacky you can稚 say you didn稚 know I was a bit nutty!
And I致e come up with a name for my car. Or rather, Bob did. We were talking about nicknames for Internet BBS痴 and he said I should use SPiQ, a name formed from all my initials. But I think I壇 rather adopt that name for my car. Welcome, SPiQ! :D
